Future goals

Establishing and actively pursuing my goals is an important part of continuing my college career. By having a written, detailed list, I hope to maintain an eager pursual of my goals by keeping them at the forefront of my mind. Listed below are some of the objectives I plan on accomplishing, which are subject to change. My main priorities at this moment are italicized.

  • Graduate Summa Cum Laude (GPA of 3.9 or higher)

  • Partake in research within my majors as well as outside them (completed)

  • Volunteer with an organization outside of campus (completed)

  • Get a score of 170 or higher on my LSAT

  • Apply and get admission to one of the top 20 law schools

  • Establish relationships with my professors (completed)

  • Advance the goals of my organization as President

Completed Goals

As I enter the last year of my college career, I have completed 3 of the goals I set out to accomplish. The rest of them are ones I am only able to attempt during my senior year. For my goal of

participating in research, I was able to be in the Economic Statecraft Program along with a few undergraduates to help some graduate students in their capstone project. Although it started off with creating a database, I was able to help on two publications and learn more about not just research in the humanities, but also more about my major. After some time of being on this team, I was able to

solidify my decision to go into law, but I am glad I ventured into economics to see if it was an option for me. In the past three years, I have also volunteered with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. I serve as a big sister to a local high school girl named Makayla. This has been a great experience to get out of the university and see what life is like for a local, as well as to help another girl with her high school experience and give her the advice I wish I had when I was 16. The final goal was to establish relationships with my professors. Throughout the years, I've gotten to know some incredible professors who I adore and learned how valuable it is to go to office hours. I even got to help Dr. Naufaul in the economics department by doing some minor data gathering work to aide his research. Dr. Naufal specifically was a very influential professor during my time at A&M and I am grateful I got to experience 2 classes with him. His class on Law and Economics also solidified my goal of becoming a lawyer by putting it in a different perspective outside of just reading.
